LAWRENCEVILLE — Olney, Lawrenceville/Red Hill and Mt. Carmel squared off on the links at Lawrenceville Friday.

Olney and Lawrenceville/Red Hill tied with a score of 170 and Mt. Carmel shot a team score of 178, just eight strokes back.

Lawrenceville/Red Hill’s Camren Ray was the top golfer with a score of 35 and Olney’s Alex Nealis shot a 36.

Mt. Carmel individual scores: Jarrett West — 48; Max Zimmerman — 51; Beau Stipp — 46; Gavin Smith — 45; Gage Kennard — 45; Andrew Gillihan — 42

Mount Carmel Aces coach John White said Gillihan completed his best round ever in high school competition, finishing with a 42 to medal for the Aces.

The learning experience for the Aces was negotiating the fast greens on the course according to White, and Gavin Smith and Gage Kennard both worked hard at that, finishing with a 45 each.

Beau Stipp struck the ball well, but five penalty shots drove his score down to a 46.

Jarrett West finished with a 48 and Max Zimmerman came in with a 51 for Mount Carmel
