MOUNT CARMEL — Mount Carmel senior Madi Merritt finalized her collegiate plans in a signing ceremony on Tuesday.
Merritt, who had stated last fall her intent to attend Anderson University, finalized her pledge by signing her National Letter of Intent to play volleyball at Anderson.
Anderson University is a Division III program located in Anderson, Ind.
For Merritt, Anderson’s become a family tradition. A handful of her family members have attended Anderson, including her mother, J.J. Merritt.
This past fall Merritt was a key contributor for a Lady Aces team which finished as Region Runner-ups following a heartbreaking set loss to Massac County. The team became the first Mount Carmel group to win 20 matches in a season in over a decade.
Merritt played volleyball for three years at the high school. The lone year she didn’t, she traveled abroad to study in Japan.
