PRINCETON -- Mount Carmel senior Allyson Armstrong and freshman Madelyn Young recorded personal bests in the Mount Carmel girls golf team's last outing, leading the Lady Aces to a tri-match victory over Mount Vernon and Princeton.
Armstrong and Young each recorded a -1 (35), finishing one stroke under par on the par 36 course at the Princeton Golf and Country Club on Thursday (Sept. 5). Their efforts had them tied for medalist honors in the outing.
To round out the scores for Mount Carmel, freshman Lillian Gottman posted a +1 (37), finishing just a stroke over par and capping an excellent outing in which she finished third place. Senior Faith Witsman posted a +8 (44), sophomore Daisy Schrader posted a +11 (47), and senior Nevaeh Brock posted a +17 (53) to round out the Lady Aces.
As a team Mount Carmel finished with a score of 151, besting second place Mount Vernon's (184) score by 33 strokes. Princeton finished last in the match, scoring a 212 as a team.
With the pair of victories the Lady Aces improve to 26-1 on the season, now sitting at the halfway mark of their season.
They'll continue action on Tuesday (Sept. 10) when they host Washington at the West Berwich Golf Course in Mount Carmel at 4 p.m.
