Aces cross country ends in Effingham Regional

Mount Carmel sophomore Gehrig Jones finished 33rd individually for the Aces in Saturday's Effingham-St. Anthony Regional.

EFFINGHAM -- Mount Carmel's cross country team battled through some less than ideal conditions in Saturday's Effingham-St. Anthony Regional run on Saturday.

The Aces overcame the muddy and windy conditions to finish 20th in the Regional three-mile run at Mid America Motorworks Course in Effingham, with sophomore Gehrig Jones leading the Aces with a very impressive 33rd place individual finish (17:37).

Despite Jones' best efforts, the Aces season came to a conclusion, as they weren't in the group of qualifying teams to advance on.

Jason Miller was next in order for the Aces, finishing 103rd individually (19:42). Senior Boyd Holt followed with a 109th place finish (19:59) to finish his career as an Ace, followed by Caleb Carwile's 112th place finish (20:03), Caleb Woollard finishing 124th (20:57), Chase Keepes finishing 134th (21:34), and Anthony Bleyer rounding out the team at a timed finish of 22:45.
