Terence "Terry" Jones, 59, of Allendale, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at home.

He was born May 12, 1957, in Wabash County, the son of Darwin and Ada Mae (Smith) Jones.

Terry greatly enjoyed working in his garden. He often shared the fruits of his labor with his family and friends.  He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan along with high school and college basketball. 

Terry worked as a substitute teacher at Allendale School. He enjoyed coaching the basketball team there for 19 years. Terry will be missed by all who knew him.

Terry will be remembered by his brother, Mickey Jones of Allendale; sister, Shirley (George) Stoltz of Pesotum, Illinois; niece, April (John) Pica; nephew, David (Steffani) Stoltz; great-nephews, Caleb and Jordan Pica, Garvin Stoltz and a great-niece Reagan Pica.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents Silas and Foney Smith.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Vaughn Courter officiating. Burial will follow at Allendale Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Terry’s memory to the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, 215 W. Illinois St. — Suite 1C, Chicago, IL  60654. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 N. Cherry St., Mount Carmel, IL  62863.
