Kimball (Kim) Stuart Watson died Dec. 26, 2016, in Fort Worth, Texas, after an illness.

He is survived by his wife, Bea; daughters, Leigh Watson Healy of Tallahassee, Florida, and Claire Watson Laub of Water Mill, New York; daughter-in-law Barbara Botts, of Austin; daughters Kim Anderson of Santa Fe, Cathryn Seymour Dorsey of Austin and Shelly Seymour Kennedy of Fort Worth; and sister-in-law Ellen Watson of Mount Carmel, Illinois.

Kim was born in Chicago Aug. 7, 1929, to James and Clara Meissner Watson. After growing up in Mount Carmel, he graduated as salutatorian from Mount Carmel High School, where he lettered in football, basketball, and debate; then studied petroleum engineering at The University of Texas at Austin.

At UT he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, Texas Cowboys, The Friar Society, Goodfellows, and was Co-Chairman of Varsity Carnival. He served as 1st Lt. in Army Corps of Engineers.
