Anna Mae “Toots” Kohlbecker, 91, of Mount Carmel, passed away Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Jan. 14, 1925, the daughter of Joe and Kate (Otto) Kling in Mount Carmel. She graduated from Mount Carmel High School in 1943. She worked many years at Meissner’s Electronic Components Company.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, James “Eddie” and wife Aleta Phelps of Mount Carmel; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and sister, Amelia Eva Schuster.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, James R. Kohlbecker; siblings, Mary Kathryn Russell, William Martin Kling, Josephine Kling and Alice Marcella Kuehling.

Family and friends are welcome to visitation on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry St., Mount Carmel, IL. Funeral services will begin immediately following at noon with Pastor Tony Hodgson officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.  Envelopes will be available at Short Funeral Home.
