Alice Warmoth, 88, of Mount Carmel, passed away Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, at Wabash General Hospital.

Alice was born Wednesday, March 14, 1928, in Mount Carmel, the daughter of Charles Monroe and Nellie (Reed) McWilliams. She graduated Mt. Carmel High School in the class of 1945.

In March 1953, she married Jim Warmoth at the First Christian Church in Mount Carmel.

At the age of 15 Alice began working. She was the friendly face many remember working at the A & P Store for numerous years.

Alice dearly loved her grandchildren and cherished the time she spent with them.  They fondly called her “Nanny.”  She was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Jim, of 63 years; daughter, Dianna and her husband Steven Stennett of Texas; and two grandchildren, Logan and Cole Stennett.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter, Vickie Lee Warmoth; and siblings, Victor, Harold and Jackie Warmoth and Kathryn Beauchamp.

Friends and family may call Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Chapel of Short Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry St.

The funeral service will be Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at 11 a.m., also at Short Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memorial Cemetery, 1827 College Drive.
