Mount Carmel senior golfer Wade Ruth advances to IHSA 1A State Tournament

EFFINGHAM, Ill. -- Though the remaining Mount Carmel boys golfers seasons are done, senior Wade Ruth kept his season alive on Monday at the Effingham Country Club.

As Ruth finished in the top ten in the IHSA 1A Regionals, he similarly finished top ten in the IHSA 1A Sectionals, just making the cut in 10th place.

Ruth, who competed in the IHSA 1A State Tournament last year, carries positive momentum heading into his second straight appearance, this time as an individual, coming off his score of 79 in the sectionals.

The state tournament will run on Oct. 12 - Oct. 13 at Prairie Vista Golf Course in Bloomington, Ill. Additional information can be found at the IHSA's website at
