PRINCETON - The championship round is set for the Toyota Gibson County Teamwork Classic after Pool Play action wrapped up Friday night.

In Princeton, Wood Memorial defeated Princeton, 43-25, in girls basketball action. Princeton’s boys overcame a 30-18 deficit over the Trojans en route to a 56-51 victory.

At Gibson Southern, The Titans’ boys and girls’ teams both defeated Mount Carmel. The Titans won the boys’ game over Mount Carmel, 64-53. The Lady Titans defeated the Lady Aces, 62-56.

In Pool A for the girls, Castle finishes with a 2-0 record. Wood Memorial is 1-1 and Princeton is 0-2. In Pool B, Gibson Southern is 2-0, Mount Carmel 1-1 and Mt. Vernon (IN) finished 0-2.

For the boys, Castle was 2-0 in Pool A followed by Princeton at 1-1 and then Wood Memorial at 0-2. In Pool B, Gibson Southern was 2-0, North Posey 1-1 and Mount Carmel at 0-2.

Action will start with the girls’ fifth-place game between Princeton and Mt. Vernon (IN) with an 11 a.m. tipoff. The boys’ fifth-place game will pit Wood Memorial against Mount Carmel at 12:45 p.m.

In the third-place game, Wood Memorial will face Mount Carmel at 2:30 p.m. in the girls’ game followed by the boys’ game as Princeton taking on North Posey at 4:15 p.m.

In the championship, Castle and Gibson Southern teams will play in both. The girls’ championship is set for 6 o’clock while the boys’ championship will be decided at 7:45 p.m.
