GRAYVILLE — Carrier Mills swept a doubleheader Saturday against Grayville Post 696 in Jr. Legion baseball action.
Carrier Mills won Game 1, 12-9, and then Game 2, 12-3.
Carrier Mills opened with two runs in the top of the first inning to kick off Game 1. Grayville doubled that in the bottom of the second to lead, 4-2, before Carrier Mills added another run in the third and trailed Post 696, 4-3.
From there, Grayville added three runs in the third inning for a 7-3 lead when Carrier Mills scored five times in the fourth and four more runs in the fifth to open up a 12-8 lead.
Post 696 added only one more run the rest of the way when they scored in the bottom of the fifth.
Aden Gill was 4-for-5 with two runs and an RBI. Kent Miller finished 2-for-5 with an RBI. Cole Neeley finished 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored and an RBI.
Adam Stoneberger finished 1-for-4 with a run scored. Levi Stockton finished 1-for-4 with an RBI.
Drew Arnott finished 4-for-4 with two RBI and an RBI while Cameron Gross was 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored.
In Game 2, Carrier Mills led 8-3 after three innings. Carrier Mills scored four times in the third, three times in the second and once in the third. Grayville scored three times in the second. Carrier Mills added four runs in the fifth before shutting out Post 696 in the bottom of the fifth.
Grayville was limited to four hits in the second game. Miller finished 1-for-3 with an RBI.
