Aces baseball to host 3 Up 3 Down to raise down syndrome awareness

Mount Carmel High School baseball will be hosting 3 Up 3 Down on World Down Syndrome Day on Thursday, March 21 in their game against Fairfield at 4:30 p.m.

MOUNT CARMEL -- Spring sports are set to be in full swing beginning next week and Mount Carmel's baseball team announced an event for their fourth game of the season.

The Aces will be hosting an event called 3 Up 3 Down, promoting Down syndrome awareness on World Down Syndrome Day, Thursday, March 21.

They'll be hosting Fairfield for the event and have made t-shirts which have been sold to students, faculty and the public for the game. All proceeds go to S.M.I.L.E., an Evansville based Down syndrome awareness and advocate group.

Anyone seeking to make an extra donation toward S.M.I.L.E. can do so at the game.

First pitch is slated for 4:30 p.m. on March 21.
