ALBION — Russell Wayne Mays, 67, of Albion, passed from this life to the next on Nov. 16, 2017 at Rest Haven Manor in Albion.

Wayne was born June 26, 1950 in Mt. Vernon, to Olive (Lively) and Russell Mays. He married Anna Mae Morris on Jan. 1, 1977 at the Keensburg Christian Church in Keensburg, and she survives.

He served as a part-time minister in the past for both the Bellmont Christian Church and the Wynoose Christian Church, and was a factory worker at both Champion Labs and Snap-On. Wayne graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Christian education from Saint Louis Christian College in 2001, and was a member of the Sigma Lambda Chi Chi Honor Society. He enjoyed his grandchildren’s activities and singing for the Lord.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Anna Mae Mays of Albion; two sons: Jonathan (Rebekka) Mays of Browns and Kainen Mays of Albion; one daughter, Autumn Mays of Albion; three sisters: Diane Wilson of Oregon, Linda (Bob) Robinson of Mt. Vernon, and Elaine (Frankie) Owens of Mt. Vernon; and four grandchildren: Brooklyn, Trace, Maggie, and Windsor Mays. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Anna Maria Mays, and granddaughter Clemma Frances.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, 2017 at Ingram Funeral Home in Albion. Funeral service is at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017 at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Carmel.

Memorials may be made to Toys For Tots, and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
