BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Jerry Allen McIntosh, 83, of Bloomington, Indiana, died Feb.19, 2018.

Born in Mt. Carmel, he was the son of Willis Jeffery McIntosh and Imogene Herma Atteberry McIntosh. He graduated in 1952 from Mt. Carmel High School and received B.S., M./S. and Ed. D degrees from Indiana University.

He taught mathematics at University High School and was a faculty member of the School of Education during 1958-1998. McIntosh was an active member of the Indiana Council of Teachers of Mathematics and held many offices including two terms as president. He was a frequent speaker at meetings of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and served on several NCTM committees. He was actively involved as a faculty member of Indiana University in the areas of mathematics education and instructional computing.

Survivors include his lovely wife, Jane P. McIntosh, son Kevin D. McIntosh and family of Johnson County, Indiana, and lovely daughter, Erin Jane McIntosh of Fishers, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to “The Jerry McIntosh Award”, School of Education, Indiana University Foundation, 1500 N State Road 45 46 Bypass, Bloomington, IN 47408.

Inurnment will take place at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home.
