MOUNT CARMEL — Eugene “Gene” Isham, 62, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by the love of his family.

Gene was born March 17, 1955 in Oliver Springs, Tennessee, the son of Lloyd and Bonnie (Cagley) Isham.

Gene a member of the Laborers Local Union 561 and worked in road construction. He was a very hard worker. Gene was a true outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. His favorite times were spent on the river. Among Gene’s hobbies, he enjoyed working on cars and playing horseshoes. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him.

Gene will be remembered by his wife, Sheila Isham; mother, Bonnie Isham; two sons, Ralston (Jennifer) Isham and Allen (Felisha) Isham of Mount Carmel; grandchildren, Rainey, Willow and Danny; four brothers, David Gaston, Robert Isham, Jack Isham and Eddie Isham; three sisters, Sue Flener, Jane Brines and Donna Merier; several nieces and nephews.

Gene was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Isham and sister, Kathy Isham.

In keeping with Gene’s wishes, no formal service is planned at this time. A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date.
