PRINCETON — Barbara Jean Rembe, 85, of Princeton, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton.

She was born Oct. 25, 1932 in Princeton, to Harrison and Lela (Christmas) Hitch. She attended New Covenant Baptist Church in Princeton. She worked in the dietary department of Gibson General Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Rembe of Princeton; three children, Marilyn Rodgers (Paul) of Sumner, Illinois, Jim Speedy (Norma) of Newburgh and David Speedy of Princeton; grandchildren, Karen Nielsen, Jason Speedy, Jennifer Labhart and Melinda Speedy, also Ashley, Courtney and Phillip; five great grandchildren; sisters, Luella Fulford (Bob) of Indianapolis, and Mary Lee Warren (Tom) of Stillwater, Oklahoma; mother-in-law, Hazel Moore of Princeton; and a brother-in-law, Larry Rembe (Lori) of Princeton.

Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Billy Williams; sister, Bonnie Phillips; grandson, Joseph L. Walter II and step-daughter, Lori Lee Rembe.

Funeral service is at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, officiated by Pastor Fred Denton. Burial will follow in Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Saturday at Colvin Funeral Home.
