MOUNT CARMEL — The Wabash School District 348 School Board is set to approve the contract of the new Wabash CUSD 348 Superintendent at their regular monthly board meeting on Monday beginning at 7 p.m. at the North Intermediate Center of Education Library room.

The new superintendent will replace current superintendent Tim Buss who will retire at the end of June.

Twenty-five applicants applied for the position. The school board, with Illinois Association of School Boards consultant Jim Helton, narrowed the field to six candidates after reviewing applications. Those six candidates have been interviewed over the past two months by the school board.

The search of the new superintendent began in the fall and will conclude with the hiring on Monday.
