MOUNT CARMEL — Wabash County Animal Shelter's annual "Dog Swim" is from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Mount Carmel City Pool.

Dogs must have proof of up-to-date vaccinations. The cost for the event is $5 per dog. Dog owners can also have their animals microchipped for $20 at the event.

Concessions include hot dogs and drinks and special popsicles for the dogs. All proceeds benefit the animal shelter.

The next fundraiser for the shelter is at R'z Cafe in Fort Branch Aug. 26. The restaurant hosts a "Dog Gone It Summer Is Over" party beginning at 4 p.m. and will be collecting donations for the animal shelter. Dog owners can bring their animals to the restaurant's patio for treats, doggie contests, food specials and more.

The 3rd Annual Woof and Wine Fest is Sept. 9 from noon until 6 p.m. at Homestead Vineyards in West Salem. There will be wine, food and music with proceeds benefiting the animal shelter.
