MOUNT CARMEL — The new stage planned for the Mount Carmel Uptown Amphitheater is well under way. Market Street MTC, a local not-for-profit corporation, is working to raise the funds for the project, and coordinating construction.

The organization reports that while final stage details are being worked out, a fundraising goal of $20,000 has been set to complete the initial phase, which includes the stage structure, electrical service and other portions of the amphitheater yet to be completed. Those items include: touch up and sealing the existing north wall mural, cleaning, calking and priming and painting the south wall for a second mural, and installation of lighting on either side of the area over the tables. About $4500 has been raised. Donations, in any amount, from organizations, businesses and individuals are welcome. Make checks to Market Street MTC, addressed to PO Box 305, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.

The organization is planning a crowdfunding effort through “Generosity”, the non-profit arm of IndieGoGo.
