MOUNT CARMEL -- City officials remind residents that there is no leaf vacuum pick up this fall. Residents can bag their leaves and city workers will pick up the bagged leaves. Mount Carmel Mayor Bill Hudson reminds residents to not rake leaves to the curb.

The City of Mount Carmel recently renewed their insurance policy that covers liability on all city entities and workmans compensation. The amount of the insurance policy was $257,053 which is the same as last years premium.

City Commissioner Joe Judge reminds residents that the Senior Center is available to rent for the holiday season for gatherings. The cost to rent the center is $75.

City Commissioner Justin Dulger told city council members last week that the sewer department is looking into purchasing a SCADA system which is a digital system that would electronically monitor the sewer system.

The next Wabash Valley Water Commission will meet this Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 5 p.m. at the Albion City Hall to further discuss the progress on the Regional Water Plant.

The city will advertise for the contract on mowing of the city cemeteries.

There will be a public hearing on Monday, Nov. 27 at 4 p.m. at city hall for the application of a Illinois EPA loan to help finance the project of the wastewater treatment plant project.
