MOUNT CARMEL — Volunteers interested in being a part of plans to build a full stage at the Uptown Amphitheater in are invited to a public meeting at 6 p.m.Thursday, Sept. 21 at the amphitheater in the 300 block of Market Street.

Spokesman Terry Beckerman said Market Street MTC, a recently formed not-for-corporation with the mission of assisting other community organizations in the redevelopment of the city’s core, is raising funds funds and will oversee construction of the stage.

Thursday's meeting is planned to solicit public input regarding design, purpose and use of the venue, as well as discussion of volunteer hours needed for construction and fundraising.

Bring a lawn chair for the meeting. Rain will move the meeting to the lobby of the Neikirk Building at 306 N Market. For more information, phone 618-263-2093.
